Searching for the Iberian lynx, the most endangered cat of the world! How exiting! Although chances of seeing it are not guaranteed, wandering through its territory with the hope of observing a lynx, sometimes rewarded, is always a special experience. It is always amazing to look at nature on this territory with great diversity. Other mammals such as red and fallow deers, wildboars, red foxes… are easier to see. And good chances to see the spanish iberian eagle, black-winged kite, short-eared owl, and many more birds such as common cranes, stone curlew, little owl…
You meet with your guide in your hotel in Mazagón, or directly in El Rocio. You will start on a tour inside the national park and in private lands close to the Real Way (Cañada Real) going from El Rocio towards Seville. On these lands, you get the best chances to spot the Iberian lynx, the most endangered cat of the world. Nonetheless, lands are flat with a fairly abundant vegetation and the lynx occupied a large territory, which makes it difficult to see it. We might get sights of lynx prints or scats, and observe other mammals such as red and fellow deers, or wildboars, foxes… And birds that are around, looking also for the most difficult to see: Spanish imperial eagle, black-winged kite, or also little owl, common cranes, stone curlew…
