This little house, confortable and all equipped, is located in the small village called Acebuche («wild olive tree»), 3 km away from Almonaster La Real and Cortegana, ubicated in the western part of the natural parc of Sierra Aracena and Aroche Picks. Although the village do not get permanent services, a mobile shop comes every day (but sunday) with its truck to provide basic goods, and then you can find supermarkets in Cortegana 3 km away.

Surrounded by nature, many paths will allow you to fully enjoy nice typical landscapes of this Natural Parc. Its traditional clear wood pasture (called «dehesas») have majestuous cork or holm oaks scattered through the mountainous lands where the black iberian pigs (amongst other livestock) look for acorns and will finally provide the best hams of the world known as «Pata Negra», with an Origin Appellation «Jabugo»! Streams running through the valley are lined with alders, ash trees or willow trees, which autumns’ colors contrast with the persistent green of oak forrests or pine tree forrests.

This natural parc is ideal to go hiking, with small mountainous relief (highest peak of the Natural Parc gets around 1000 m at San Cristobal) and many traditional trails formerly used by smugglers, farmers… Few of them are officially marked and maintained by the Andalusian Board, but many other tracks go through amazing sites of this Sierra.

Also famous for its big diversity of mushrooms (Amanita cesarea being one of the most appreciated specie), the Natural PArc of Sierra Aracena, and Sierra Pelada in the most western part close to our village, shelter important populations of vultures, both griffon and black vultures with one of the main blakc vulture population in Europe. These impressive birds of preys get almost 3 meters of wingspan and you will be able to watch them almost every days. Of course, the diversity of birds you might see is much bigger. Other birds of preys such as golden eagle, red kite, wide gliders such as the black stork, or many warblers (with some that are wintering birds, other resident and other just breeding…) will be enjoyed by keen birders.
Around our house, in the immediate surroundings, amongst the species seen more often, you might watch both griffon and black vultures of course, but also red kite, nuthatch, sardinian warblers all year long and white throat or garden warbler on migration, black cap in winter, black tit, blue tit, long-tailed tit, spotted woodpeckers, lesser spotter woodpecker and green wookpeckers, tree creepers, wren, blue jay, cirl bunting, iberian shrike and woodchat shrike from March to September, corn bunting, black and common redstart, chifchaf, willow warbler, iberian chifchaf and Bonelli’s warbler…
